The Brazil eVisa is an electronic visitor visa for citizens of the United States, Canada, or Australia. If you come from one of these countries, you need a visa for Brazil.

The eVisa application is completed 100% online. Apply before you travel, and show confirmation of approval when you arrive. It covers:

Brazil eVisa validity

The Brazil eVisa allows you to stay up to 90 days over 1 year. This covers 12 months from your entry date, whether you use those days in one trip or across several visits.

You can request an extension of up to 90 additional days in a 1-year period from the Brazilian Federal Police before your initial authorized period expires.

The eVisa is a multi-entry permit, meaning you can use it for multiple visits as long as you respect the 90 days in 12 months rule. Depending on your nationality, the visa is valid for 5 to 10 years.

The final decision on your visa validity rests with Brazilian immigration authorities. Always check the expiration date and conditions shown on your approved eVisa before traveling.

In addition to your eVisa, all travelers entering or leaving Brazil are required to submit a Brazil e-DBV (Electronic Declaration of Goods). This is your customs declaration, and it's mandatory even if you have nothing to declare.

To apply for a Brazil eVisa, you need the following:

Your photograph must show your face clearly, use a white background, and avoid shadows. We’ll help you understand the specifications and check that all your supporting documents meet the file size and type requirements.

You may be asked to show that you have sufficient funds for your trip to Brazil, such as recent pay stubs or bank account statements. Usually, an available balance of at least US$2,000 or the equivalent in another currency is accepted.

You’ll also need to show you have plans to leave Brazil, like an onward travel ticket or return flight booking.

Brazil eVisa document rules for minors

Children need their own visa for Brazil. It’s not possible to include a minor in a parent’s application. To fill out a child eVisa application, you need:

If one of the child’s parents is a Brazilian citizen, additional documentation is usually needed. A child who holds Brazilian citizenship cannot receive a Brazilian visitor visa.

When the child has not been registered as a Brazilian citizen and does not hold a Brazilian birth certificate or passport, the Brazilian parent needs to provide a notarized Declaration of Non-Citizenship.
